Goal Setting Series: What Are You Dream Goals?

What are you Dream Goals? (Pt. 1)

As 2017 comes to a close, and a new year is upon us, you’re probably starting to reflect on the years past, what you accomplished or lack thereof. You may have a desire to stop those bad habits and finally work on that dream that they didn’t get to this year. In a 2017 study, approximately 42% of Americans every year have new year resolutions and only about 9% of them believe that they were successful in creating their idea.

So how can you make sure that this upcoming year is a successful one? I am here to break it down for you. In the month of December, I will be going through all the steps needed to make sure your resolutions see the light of day in 2018 and tools and resources to keep you on the right path.
I am breaking down all the steps needed to finally work on those goals that you had set many years ago and finally set yourself up for success. Here we will break down the what, why, daily practices and triggers to set up.

What is your dream goal?

Goal: the object of a person’s ambition or effort; an aim or desired result.
First things first! What are thoughts in your head that keep you up at night? The ones that you pray, or wish would come your way? What do you think about when you’re scrolling through Instagram of your favorite girlbosses? Wishing you could be working from that cool location or dancing your way to your #ootd posts to your major fans on your insta story? (any oh joy fans here?) Daydreaming at your desk or cubicle at work saying, “I wish I could just get up and say fuck this, peace!” Or something along those lines…

I am here to tell you, you are having those thoughts and feelings for a reason. There is a yearning inside you, but this doesn’t mean it’s just going to come to you, you have work. Before we get to the work…. you need to be clear and specific on what your goal is.

What exactly do you want to achieve?

It’s important to be clear and specific as to what you want to accomplish. It makes it easier to break down your goals when it’s highly specific.

For example, your goal can be that you want to start a business.

That’s pretty vague, so instead, you could say: I want to start a service type business, where I help bloggers create beautiful converting websites.
With this specific goal, you can create sub-goals (small tasks) to reach your big goal.
It’s important, to continue to progress and not have a singular goal but several that coincide with each other, to help you grow.
For example, with my focus being where I help non-designers create beautiful converting websites; my aim is to give practical guides to create beautiful sites. The person who is looking for guidance to DIY their own site is someone who obviously can’t afford a designer. So you can provide daily bite-sized tips, free or affordable tools, and create courses for full tutorials (an A-Z guide).

Pro Tip: Write down your goals. A study found by Dr. Gail Matthews, a psychology professor at the Dominican University in California that you become 42% more likely to achieve your goals and dreams, simply by writing them down on a regular basis.

So, what’s your dream goals? What have you had on your mind that you would like to achieve? Please share below.

Oh gosh! Writing down your dream goals in a public space is so nerve-wracking! But I would love to provide about $1000 of income per month to my household – any combination of my Mary Kay business and my blog would suffice.

I honestly needed to read this!! I Need to sit down and write my goals down! My goal is to become profitable with my blog to stay home again. I also want to grow my youtube channel. I also have a few homesteading goals like setting up raised garden bed for when spring comes along with getting a chicken coop up.
